Wednesday I took Thekla up to UC Davis to have the cause of her occasional lameness diagnosed. She's a very active pup and loves to run and be chased by other dogs, but sometimes she would be left with a limp. Turns out she has a congenital malformation of her right front elbow which needs to be surgically corrected. So today is the day. I pick her up tomorrow and thus begins a six week period of restricted activity - the hardest part of this ordeal for both of us.

Oh No, Mister Bill ! It's the dreaded 50/50.

Fifty blank panels are a daunting sight, even if they're only 6 x 6. But after the stack is broken open and the first panel completed we're off and running. Yesterday was Day One of the 50/50 challenge. The last day is July 5th. It will be here before we know it.

Thursday Night FIgure Drawing Group Continued

This drawing was started two weeks ago. Often there isn't enough time during our group sessions to complete a long pose, so I finish them up later when I have time. This is pastel on grey paper.

Sanchez 50/50 Show 2010; aka Never say Never

For those of you who are wondering what the heck I'm talking about when I said I had entered photos taken through a glass block for this year's 50/50 Show, here are the three three examples I submitted. The first is "Dark Angel", second is Abstract Landscape #1, and third is Abstract Interior #1.
This is a new medium for me and I imagine this venture will keep me busy for the next couple of months.
