Friday night's opening...

was mobbed.  It was a little difficult to see all the wonderful works, but everyone seemed to be enjoying the event in spite of the crush.  Just means that a return visit will be needed in order to see everything.  But don't wait too long as some of the sold works have already been taken home by the lucky buyers.

Hanjin Venezia (aka Cosco Busan)

Found Object Sculpture
This sculpture is made from various objects including bird bones and parts found along the shoreline of San Francisco Bay following the oil spill in 2007 from the Cosco Busan, since renamed Hanjin Venezia.  This sculpture is part of a series I am doing re damage to our environment and the effects on birds and other animal life.

Other Recent Work - Oil on Canvas, 5' x 6'

This larger piece was done following a trip to Machu Picchu.   All objects and creatures are created from memory or imagination.  I call the bird a nor-egret as I experienced altitude sickness, but I'm still glad I went.  As for the bubbles, I've always been fascinated by them.

50/50 Finally Finished

Well, almost.  Need to clean up some edges and sign the backs, but other than that done.  It's been quite an experience.  Hope to see you all at the opening on July 24th.
